Dear Kin,
This is a call for all to come and share in a very special spiritual event - Dwight Loop's "Hunab Ku Trilogy" - see below. Come and share this transformative and healing musical experience with us. We will have a PAN Pacifica booth there and would welcome anyone who would like to help reach out to others.
We have also learned that Jose Arguelles, Valum Votan, will be a part of the Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa this year www.harmonyfestival.com/ on Crystal 11-13 (June 9-12). As soon as we get his schedule I will send out another announcement. We will also have a booth at this festival and additionally are hoping to expand beyond the festival to include a kin gathering with Jose and possibly a workshop. So, mark your 13 moon calendars!
And last but not least, anyone interested in working with us to create a Day Out of Time event this year, please contact me - kamander@earthlink.net or Annalisa 11 hand - akwablooz@yahoo.com. We decided last night at our Crystal gathering that we want to put one together and want to bring all of us together to celebrate yet another completed year of the Seven Years Mystery of the Stone. It will be a camp-out on Cosmic 28 and then a full day partying. This is going to be a "summer of love" again!
Radiant love & light,
Kate overtone hand.
Butterfly Events Calendar > Music
Hun Nab Ku, Galactic Butterfly at Grace Cathedral
Time: Wednesday, May 17 - Spectral 16, Seli, Blue Solar Storm - 7:30 pm
ArtsFest San Francisco, Cobalt Sun and California Institute for Integral Studies (CIIS) and Grace Cathedral present ...
Hunab Ku; the Trilogy by electronic music composer Dwight Loop with
Hunab Ku; the Trilogy is a a stunning, deep space, electronic music composition based on ancient Mayan cosmological term for the galactic center of the galaxy. Grace Cathedral will be a perfect setting for the premiere of the entire Hunab Ku Trilogy.
Loop began composing and performing the first of the Hunab Ku trilogy in 1990 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and has performed it throughout the U.S. in various new music festivals and venues.
After reading Jose Arguelles' writings, I realized that what he was describing as being a shift in consciousness coming at the 'end of time' of the Mayan Calendar at 2012, I came upon several realizations. One, was that Arguellas described the Hunab Ku being the galactic radio waves emanating from the galactic center were 'shifting. This concept coincided with a 'feeling' or intuition that we were in the beginning stages of this cosmic energy shift. The Berlin Wall had just come down in the late 80s and there was an incredible surge of 'energy' going on for change. I felt that I needed to express this energetic shift happening in music and thus the Trilogy. This trilogy represents the cosmic vibrations, emitted from the Hunab Ku, which are changing our consciousness and our DNA, preparing for the next phase of our evolution.
The symbol of Hunab Ku is called the Galactic Butterfly. It is said to represent all of the consciousness that has ever existed in this galaxy. This is all of our physical ancestors both human, animal, reptile, fish, shell fish, plants as well as the consciousness which organized all of the raw material from a whirling disk into stars then planets and solar systems. Big Meaning. So big that the original Maya had no symbol for this. In their civilization it was like having no name for God. Just knowing the concept was good enough. Later this pattern was devised by Toltec or Zapatec weavers as a pattern for blankets and this is where Jose Arguelles came across it. The name Hunab Ku means the "one giver of movement and measure." The indigenous peoples call it "The Galactic Butterfly." Butterflies are seen as ancestors returning for a visit to physicality. Wearing one of these symbols is very powerful as it broadcasts your reaching to actively join the consciousness of our galaxy. See the symbol at www.mayanmajix.com/gb250.html
Loop has performed the various stages of Hunab Ku; the Trilogy at the Berkeley Arts Center (Berkeley, CA), the Brooklyn Festival for the Arts (Brooklyn, NY), and Guadalupe Church (Santa Fe, NM) and the Outpost Performance Space (Albuquerque, NM). As an electronic composer, his works have been performed at the New Music America Festival in 1990, the Concentration New Music Series, Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe, NM; Contemporary Music Series, the Cell Space (San Francisco, CA) and the Synapse Electronic Arts Series; (Sausalito, CA) at Cobalt Sun.
Dwight's work has been heard on many public radio stations around the world and he was the host of the acclaimed new music radio program, Earwaves from 1977-2001 on KUNM=FM in Albuquerque, NM KSFR-FM in Santa Fe, NM. He is currently co-director of Cobalt Sun Studios in Sausalito and is a member of ambient electronic group Tropozone.
